FABRICA: ANTENNA DESIGN AT FABRICAAntenna Design at Fabrica "Streetlife" Workshop
upon invitation: 15/16/17 June 2005 Lecture open to all: 16 June 2005
at 18:00 Wanted Creativity Workshops and Lectures 2005
From June 15 to 17 the well-known interactive designers Antenna Design will be at Fabrica to give a workshop entitled "Streetlife". Public space is a stage for encounter, spectacle and ritual. Through careful insertion of artifacts we can engage the public with the environment and/or with each other, as performers and audience, thereby transforming the perception of a place. The task is to design human interactions that are encouraged and mediated through artifacts, both tangible and intangible. The core of this workshop is to explore how a certain artifact defines and facilitates a particular behaviour and interaction amongst people and environments. Antenna Design was founded in 1997 by Masamichi Udagawa and Sigi Moeslinger. Their mission is to make the experience of technologically enhanced objects and environments more meaningful and exciting. Antenna’s work ranges from public to corporate, from realized to exploratory. Among Antenna’sbest-known projects are the two newest fleets of New York City’s subway cars and New York City’s MetroCard vending machines. On a more conceptual side, Antenna investigates the cultural role of electronically enhanced objects and environments in the form of interactive installations where Antenna creates a new aesthetics of technologically mediated experiences. Antenna has won numerous design awards for both commercial and experimental projects and their work has been featured at various exhibitions at venues including the Museum of Modern Art, New York and the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, New York.
creare oggetti e ambienti sperimentali a forte impronta tecnologica
più stimolanti e ricchi di significato. I loro lavori spaziano dal pubblico
all’aziendale, dalla realizzazione concreta alla ricerca pura.
