CATENA: Casey Reas at FabricaCasey Reas at Fabrica "Screen Paper Pattern" Workshop: 6-7-8 July 2005 Lecture open to all: July 7th, 2005 at 6:00 pm Wanted Creativity Workshops and Lectures 2005 Casey Reas, one of the most interesting and acclaimed Interactive designers of the international scene, will be at Fabrica from July 6th to 8th for a workshop entitled "Screen Paper Pattern". This three day workshop combines paper and printing with code and software. The students, under the direction of Casey Reas, will be making posters from generated patterns created through organizing images and graphics with custom software written in Processing. Casey Reas is an artist and educator exploring process and abstraction through diverse media. Reas has exhibited and lectured in Europe, Asia, and the United States and his work has recently been shown at the ZKM (Karlsruhe), Ars Electronica (Linz), Kuenstlerhaus (Vienna), Microwave (Hong Kong), Bitforms (New York), DAM (Berlin), and Uijeongbu City (Korea). Reas received his MS degree in Media Arts and Sciences from MIT where he was a member of John Maeda's Aesthetics and Computation Group. With Ben Fry, he is currently developing Processing, a programming language and environment built for the electronic arts community.

Casey Reas a Fabrica "Screen Paper Pattern" Workshop su invito: 6-7-8 luglio 2005 Conferenza aperta al pubblico: 7 luglio 2005 ore 18:00 Wanted Creativity Workshops e Lectures 2005 L'ultimo appuntamento di Wanted Creativity prima della pausa estiva ha come protagonista uno dei più interessanti e seguiti Interactive designer della scena internazionale, Casey Reas che sarà a Fabrica dal 6 all'8 luglio per un workshop dal titolo "Screen Paper Pattern". Questi tre giorni di workshop combinano carta e stampa con programmazione e software. Saranno realizzati una serie di poster a partire da pattern generati attraverso la combinazione elettronica di immagine e grafica, resa possibile grazie all'utilizzo di programmi ad hoc scritti in Processing. Casey Reas è un artista e pedagogista che esplora i meccanismi di elaborazione e astrazione attraverso diversi media. Reas ha organizzato mostre e tenuto conferenze in Europa, in Asia e negli Stati Uniti e le sue opere sono state esposte di recente al ZKM (Karlsruhe), all’Ars Electronica (Linz), a Kuenstlerhaus (Vienna), a Microwave (Hong Kong), a Bitforms (New York), a DAM (Berlino) e Uijeongbu City (Corea). Reas ha conseguito la laurea in Scienze e Arti dei Media presso il MIT, dove faceva parte del Gruppo di Computazione ed Estetica di John Maeda.
